Update: July 10, 2018. We found after installing the Yoast fix, that an extreme number of Google 410 errors were showing up. This was reported by others in the WordPress form post. This morning a response came from another Yoast user, with another ‘speedier’ solution the Yoast Bug and the resulting errors. I have not tested or tried this solution, but am sharing, nonetheless, so if you have experienced theses troubles you have another resource to check into. Do you use the fantastic Yoast plug-in for SEO improvements on your website? Sometimes even the most fantastic plug-ins get bugs. Fortunately the Yoast team supports their products, creates fixes and updates their customers.
In the last months one of my websites, https://scorpio-moon.com seemed to become invisible to Google. I couldn’t figure it out. Other sources were sending viewers my way, but Google stopped.
Last week I came across an article from Yoast with a possible reason. It has to do with Media Attachment Urls. The Yoast team explains what they are in their article, “Media / attachment URLs: What to do with them“. They also outline a solution, which was approved by Google. Please read this if you use Yoast. Don’t give up on Yoast. These things happen in an ever changing world of software.
I love using Yoast because it helps improve my content writing and sets the stage for continuously improving SEO on my personal websites. Except for some early websites for clients, most of the sites I’ve developed have Yoast installed.
